Trialists have been selected

The Qualifying event was held today at Wave House, Durban and what a show it was...

Riders came from far and wide to compete to try qualify as a trialist into the MAIN EVENT of the MALIBU FLOW CHAMPIONSHIPS 2011.

There were a few upsets including the 2X World Champ - Nick Nguyen getting knocked out of the Prone Bodyboarding Division but he did have a good Dropknee heat and secured his spot into the Main Event. Michael "MPH" Hunt was a favorite going into todays Flowrider Qualifier but he did not manage to have a great final and got a 4th place just knocking him out.

One guy who is a rookie to the sport is Michael "Ratt" Ostler, who absolutely shocked a few of the guys in the Bodyboarding division and even knocked out the defending world champ - Nick Nguyen in the Prone Division. Michael won both his Prone & Dropknee heats advancing him into the Main Event. We asked michael how he felt on his win... "I was very stoked to win both my heats, i have been training loads with my Thiel Board Co. Team mate - Billy Tennant and today was just the beginning... I would like to make the podium" says an elated Michael.
