Newly crowned South African Idol, Jason Hartman put on his best performance to date at the Wave House events arena on May 22nd '09. Around 3,000 supporters gathered at Wave House for the opening act of the night, Durban's time-warp rockers, Hairlip who belted out 80's classics and set the pace for a perfect evening. The eclectic mix of musos on the stage delivered flawless interpretations of generation-defining hits from the spandex and lumo era. During the short break between the bands the Kick Dancers entertained the crowd with some of their saucy routines and then it was time for the main act; Jason - SA's Idol.

Every bit the Idol, he rocked up in a pimped up limo, hit the stage and poured out many of his songs that saw him through round after round during the competition. From song one by Joe Cocker he had his screaming fans singing along with him. And he put on a slick performance and sounded great. His own band consisting of Pa, Kleinboet, Ouboet, etc also put their heart and soul into the show and the crowd were stoked after the show. Jason even obliged the crowd with an autograph session much to the delight of the ladies in the arena.

All proceeds from the show were donated to charity thanks to Jason and his posse and the cool people from Checkers.

What do you do for fun? I'm always spending time with friends - either hitting the beach, shopping till we drop, jolling the night away, or just chilling in each others company.

If I lived in a perfect world...There would be guys walking around with the most amazing personalities, as well as the most gorgeous looks...and it wouldn't be so hard to find them... there would be no crime and corruption, and money wouldn't be such a big thing...everyone would be equal.

The best moment of my life so far...Would be the birth of my two nieces.

My favourite thing is...My iPod. I absolutely love music. I'm hooked to it.

The last important lesson in life I learned was...That life is too short to waste... And that every moment must be lived to the fullest.

The last time I really embarrassed myself was�When I took a chance trying to wakeboard. When I stood up afterwards to move away - without even realising - my bikini was down at my hips.

When are you going to ride the FlowRider? I actually went on it the other day and Ii hectically flunked out every try. But I am going to ride it again very soon. It was fun and I would love to get the hang of it.
