Grammy award-winning rapper Lil Wayne is bringing his "I Am Still Music" tour to South Africa.

The 28-year old rapper, who has never toured South Africa before, would perform in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, said organiser Canoc Productions in a statement.

"He will perform in Cape Town on 7 December at the Bellville Velodrome, at the Coca Cola Dome, Johannesburg on 9 December and ending in Durban performing at the Wave House on 11 December 2011."

Also known as Weezy, Lil Wayne is one of the most successful rappers of the past decade. His most successful album, Tha Carter III, was released in 2008 and sold over 1 million copies in the U.S. during its first week of release. It included the number-one single "Lollipop" and won a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.

Lil Wayne has also been listed in the 2012 Guinness Book Of World Records for the record of Most US Hot 100 Hits By A Rap Artist, with 64 hits between 1999 and 2010.
