Tree63 last performed in Durban in March 2007, as part of our "Tour The Beloved Country" nationwide SA tour. "We are really looking forward to playing in our hometown again and doing what we do" says front man John Ellis, "We had an unforgettable night on our last tour, and this upcoming show at the brand new Wave House live venue promises to be as good if not better. Our friends The Arrows and Farryl Purkiss will be with us, so it just got a whole lot better! We had a year off from traveling and touring (even though we managed to get to the US, Canada, Ireland, England and, of course, Splashy Fen in the process!). The new venue's amazing; everyone's stoked, so see you there!"
The new events arena at Wave House is prepped for the show of the summer. Farryl Purkiss, Durban's iconic acoustic maestro, says "I'm stoked to be home and amped to jam in front of a big Durban crowd at the new venue. Summertime rocks!" Brace yourself for some of Purkiss' well known popular hits 'Better Days' and 'Ducking and Diving' as well as his awesome new material.
In addition to Tree 63 and Farryl Purkiss, the set is joined by The Arrows, Durban's electric trio who have been making a steady wave in the live music scene and on the airwaves, as they have begun their quest to spread the light and take their music to every ear that they can bend. Their sound is almost impossible to pigeonhole, incorporating pop, experimental dance and jazz into an eclectic, mesmeric assault on the senses. "We love the live element of what we do,' says Pam, front lady of this quirky threesome. "We love to see people respond to the music - in their faces and in their feet!"
This once off show is taking place at Wave House, Gateway Theatre of Shopping on 19th December. For more information regarding the Tree63 event at Wave House please give Wave House a call on 031-584 9400. Tickets available at Wave House and Computicket (083 915 8000).
